Motherboards are the central hub that connects all computer components and facilitates communication between them. Modern motherboards typically include sensors that communicate with the operating system to regulate CPU, RAM, and other device temperatures. These sensors can also communicate with fans to monitor and maintain fan speed. Depending on the motherboard design, the thermal management features can include heat sinks that dissipate heat from high-speed processors and other components to prevent overheating.
Many motherboards also include ports for USB, audio, and other peripheral connections. They may also contain expansion slots that allow for additional cards to add capabilities like graphics or sound. Some motherboards, particularly those designed for computers that use multiple processors, may have additional slots to support more than one processor.
Motherboards can save consumers time, energy, and money by connecting all computer parts. This makes it easier to assemble computers without the need to collect and install the individual component parts separately. It also reduces maintenance and upgrade costs. Motherboards
